Avoid all this with the stainless 14" (W) X 5" (H) vent.  Made from 19 gauge stainless steel, this vent is designed to last through anything Mother Nature has in store. The stainless steel finish will shine in any weather conditions, giving you long-lasting durability. Safety compliance requires one (1) vent every (4) feet, giving you ample airflow to remove heat and potential gas build-ups that can occur. Due to the heavier weight of propane gas versus natural gas, propane venting is required on the bottom of your grill island or outdoor kitchen, while natural gas venting is required on the top of your grill island.
