The Kozy Heat Callaway 40 is the smallest fireplace in Kozy Heat's premium Callaway architectural lineup — but don't let "smallest" mislead you. With a 43-3/8 inch wide × 16-3/4 inch tall viewing area (more total flame visible than even the larger Callaway 50), a modulating burner that scales from a remarkably low 16,500 BTU up to 31,500 BTU/hr, the full Komfort Kontrol System with smart modulating thermostat as standard equipment, and lifetime ceramic glass standard, the Callaway 40 brings the entire Callaway architectural feature set to rooms where its larger siblings would be visually or thermally oversized.

Why "Smallest" Doesn't Mean "Less"

The Callaway 40 has more total viewing area than the Callaway 50. Despite being narrower (43-3/8" wide vs the Callaway 50's 49-7/8"), the Callaway 40's taller viewing area (16-3/4" vs 13-3/8") produces approximately 726 square inches of visible flame compared to the Callaway 50's 667 square inches. The 40's more square viewing proportions (~2.6:1 aspect ratio) read very differently from the 50's long-and-skinny linear format (~3.7:1) — better suited to rooms with vertical emphasis, fireplace surrounds with stone or tile features above, and design contexts where the fireplace isn't competing with horizontal sight lines.

 

If you've been comparing the Callaway 40 to the Callaway 50 and assuming the 50 is "more fireplace for the money," look again at the proportions — for many room contexts, the 40's design is actually more appropriate.

The Callaway 40 gets the complete Callaway architectural feature set — nothing was cut to make it smaller:
